The Saskatchewan Sclerotinia risk map is showing low levels for nearly all areas of the province, but there are some hotspots with potential for the canola disease in the upcoming year.

This includes Meota in the northwest, Birch Hills southeast of Prince Albert and Guernsey, 185 kilometers northwest of Regina.

Disease assessments were made in over 200 canola fields.

20 plants were collected from five different field sites.

Sclerotinia stem rot was observed in a little more than half of those fields.
