A major announcement of discovery is coming later this morning from the site of the former Qu’Appelle Indian Residential School site.

The Star Blanket Cree Nation, Chief Michael Starr and council members will be making the announcement.

A year’s worth of ground penetrating radar searches have been taking place at the site.

This could be the latest residential school search which has detected “reflections” in the ground.

The Lebret Residential School opened in 1884, and remained in service under various names until 1998.
