Sask Stock Growers seek exemptions on new trucking regulations for livestock

Saskatchewan Stock Growers are hoping Ottawa will make exemptions on new trucking transportation rules for livestock.
Stock Growers president Garner Deobald says there is a conflict between livestock health rules and trucker hours of service.
He says the U.S. exempts the rules if a trucker is within 150 miles of the destination and he wants Canada to do the same.
New electronic logging requires a truck driver to take an 8 hour break after a maximum of 16 hours, while livestock are limited to 36 hours in transport.
