Regina Police Use Taser to Make an Arrest

An automatic review will take place, after police deployed a conducted energy weapon, or taser, to make an arrest last night.

Regina Police were called out to Flamingo Crescent just after 9 o’clock.

There were reports of someone with a weapon, acting erratically. The person charged a police car with the weapon, and backed off. He dropped the weapon and charged police again, and one of the officers used the taser.

It was unsuccessful, but the man was eventually arrested and taken into custody without injury.

The arrest will be reviewed by the Regina Police “Use of Force Committee”, and all uses of a conducted energy weapon are reported to the Saskatchewan police Commission.
