RCMP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that took place about five km west of Indian Head last night.

Initial investigation indicates a westbound semi rolled onto the centre median of the Trans Canada highway at about 7:45 p.m., where an eastbound semi collided with it.

An 50-year-old woman from Ontario who was driving the westbound semi was declared dead on the scene by EMS.

The driver of the eastbound semi was taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.

The cleanup continues on the Trans Canada highway today, with traffic down to one lane in the area as debris cleanup continues.
