One child dead another injured in car crash near Kerrobert

Yesterday at approximately 9:45 a.m., Kindersley/Kerrobert RCMP officers received a report of a collision on Highway #21, approximately four km south of Kerrobert and roughly 425 km northwest of Regina.

Initial investigation determined a minivan and an SUV collided.

One of the passengers in the minivan, a 3-year-old girl from the Kindersley area, was declared dead by EMS at the scene.

The adult female driver of the minivan was taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening and the other passenger, a female child, was taken to the hospital by STARs ambulance with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Highway #21 was closed for investigation at the time of the accident but has since re-opened.

Kindersley RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
