Free agency in the Canadian Football League does not begin until February 14. But with the negotiating period this week, it feels like the majority of moves will be made before Tuesday
It’s now reported by TSN’s Farhan Lalji that Cody Fajardo will likely sign with the Montreal Alouettes when the team is able to do so.
Sounds very likely that Cody Fajardo is going to be headed to @MTLAlouettes once the team is in position to sign off on a deal. @CFLonTSN #RiderNation @tsn690 pic.twitter.com/bshOCD74xY

The move would reunite Fajardo with former Riders offensive coordinator Jason Maas.
With all signs pointing to Trevor Harris moving to Saskatchewan, it looks like the Riders and Alouettes will be essentially swapping QBs.
Fajardo spent three seasons with the Roughriders. In 2022, he had 3,360 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
It’s also reported Saskatchewan will sign DE Stefan Banks next week.
I’m told DL Stefan Banks will sign with #Riders. 4 sacks in a rotational role in Cgy last year. @CFLonTSN

Banks has collected eight sacks over a pair of seasons with the Stampeders.
