RM of Sherwood & City of Regina reach agreement on boundary alterations

The City of Regina and the RM of Sherwood have agreed to alter the boundary between the two communities.

The agreement will move 25 acres of land within Regina City limits to the RM’s jurisdiction.

“This boundary alteration reflects good regional planning and cooperation by supporting the growth of existing businesses within the Greater Regina Area,” Mayor Sandra Masters said. “It aligns with the City’s strategic priority to encourage and advance economic development opportunities,

The land alteration is located west of Regina, adjacent to General Road.

The alteration request was by the RM of Sherwood after two companies wished to expand business operations within the RM.

“We look forward to the increased economic activity this alteration will bring to both the RM and the City through capital investments in plant expansions and job growth,” said Reeve Susan Oakley-Paul.

The RM will pay the City $5,284.65 as compensation for a tax loss.
