The Saskatchewan Roughriders first move in free agency was addressing their offensive line as the team signed Peter Godber to a contract on Tuesday.

Godber joins the Riders after spending the last four seasons with the BC Lions.

Last year he started at centre in all 18 games and in two playoff games. The 6′ 3″ lineman helped anchor an offensive line that helped BC average the most net yards per game with 384.6 yards and 99.7 rushing yards per game.

The 28-year-old became the Lions starter at centre in 2021 as he made 14 starts that season.

He spent five seasons at Rice University (2013-17).
