The Saskatchewan Roughriders made sure their quarterback had a familiar target with his new team.
Jake Wieneke agreed to terms with a deal with Saskatchewan after spending the last three seasons with the Alouettes.
Last season, the wide receiver was catching passes from new Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris.
2021 marked Wieneke’s best season in the CFL when he had 56 receptions, 898 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns and he was named a CFL All-Star.
In his rookie season, the wide receiver was named the Eastern Division’s nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie.
Last season, the 28-year-old had 45 receptions, 589 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns in 16 games.
Collegiately, Wieneke spent four seasons with South Dakota University. He signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2018.
