The University of Regina Cougars Women’s Basketball team season came to an end on Friday after they were defeated by the University of Calgary Dinos 71-62 in the Canada West semi-finals.

Jade Belmore led the Cougars with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Dayna Pierce had 13 points with 9 rebounds.

The two teams were tied at half 30-30 and once again would be deadlocked at 48-48 early in the fourth quarter.

Calgary was able to take the lead late with a three-pointer and were able to score on three straight possessions that gave the edge late in the game.

The Dinos will now advance to the Canada West final where they will meet the winner of the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Alberta semi-final on Saturday. The Canada West Finals will go next Friday.
