Starting lineups announced for Roughrider Foundation Winter Classic

 

Saskatchewan’s stars of the gridiron will be hitting the ice later this month.

The first Roughrider Foundation Winter Classic charity hockey game is set for March 18 at Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon with a 7:00 faceoff.

On Wednesday, the starting lineups were announced.

Kicker Brett Lauther and former Rider receiver Rob Bagg will captain the two squads.

Other current or former Roughriders that will be taking part in the game include Mitch Picton, Evan Johnson, Dan Clark, Brayden Lenius, Jorgen Hus, Chris Getzlaf, Jason Clermont and Greg Fieger.

University of Saskatchewan Huskies Football Head Coach and former Montreal Alouette, Scott Flory will also be involved.

There will also be former NHLers involved with the game including Ryan Keller, Byron Bitz, Ryan Bayda and Jeremy Reich.

Luke McGeough will be the referee for the game. He is the son of the late Mick McGeough who appeared 1,083 NHL regular-season games during career (1987-2008).

Proceeds from the hockey game will go towards KidSport.
