Cougars Dave Taylor named Canada West Coach of the Year

 

For the second time in his career, the University of Regina Women’s Basketball Cougars Dave Taylor has been named the Canada West Coach of the Year.

This season, Taylor led to a 27-5 overall record and a 17-3 record in conference play this season. The Cougars earned the #2 in the Canada West standings and were a constant fixture in the U Sports Top 10 rankings this season. The University of Regina spent six weeks as the top ranked team in the country.

Taylor previously won the award in 2011-12 when the Cougars had a 20-0 record. He would be named the CIS Coach of the Year in 2012.

During his 17 years at the helm of the Cougars, Taylor has become the winningest coach in the team’s history. He has an overall record of 252-78 during conference play and is 59-30 in the playoffs.
