Regina Pats forward Alexander Suzdalev has been named the Western Hockey League’s Rookie of the Month for February.
The 2004-born forward had nine goals in 15 games which led all first-year players. He also had six multi-point outings during that time.
Suzdalev recorded his first career hat trick against the Brandon Wheat Kings on February 25.
The Washington Capitals prospect leads all rookies this season in goals (34), assists (41), points (75) and power-play goals (16). He is sixth spot in overall scoring in the WHL.
This is the second time this season Suzdalev claimed the Rookie of the Month, he won the award back in December.
