Agriculture minister David Marit says the province is taking steps to ensure a healthy cattle industry remains in Saskatchewan.
SARM joined forces this week with the Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association and Stock Growers, expressing concern about veterinarian shortages, low profitability, drought, and farm support programs.
Marit says steps are being taken to provide help during difficult times.
Marit says the province has provided significant drought aid to the cattle industry, made efforts to boost numbers of rural vets, and wants more federal support for programs like livestock price insurance.
