Regina man arrest on multiple firearms charges

On Thursday, a Regina man was arrested on multiple firearms offenses.

Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Edward Street after receiving reports of a loud bang and a man being seen walking into a residence with a gun.

When police arrived they found four people, three men and one woman, in the home and they were taken into custody without any incident.

While executing a search warrant in the home, police found a firearm and ammunition as well as.

After further investigation, 32-year-old Dwayne Taypotat was arrested for Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession Is Unauthorized, Possession of a Prohibited/Restricted Firearm With Ammunition, Careless Storage of a Firearm, 2 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order, and Fail To Comply With Probation Order.

Taypotat made his first court appearance yesterday morning.
