The provincial governent is encouraging municipalities to apply for project funding under the newest intake for the Targeted sector support initiative.
The initiative provides cost-shared grants of up to 75 percent of project costs and are funded under one of the following streams, dispute resolution and relationship building, capacity building, regional co-operation, and municipal transition.
The project is funded through the government’s Municipal Revenue sharing program.
SARM president Ray Orb is pleased with the capacity building and regional co-operation from the program and urges more RM’s to apply in the next round.
Some earlier projects include training for municipal officials, developing regional emergency plans, undertaking a municipal district feasibility study and enhancing co-operation.
Applications will be accepted from now until May 1st.
