Pats welcome Wheat Kings on Indigenous Celebration Night

 

With only one point over their last four games, the Regina Pats will be looking to get back into the win column tonight when they host the Brandon Wheat Kings at the Brandt Centre.

Regina is coming off a 7-0 loss against Medicine Hat on Saturday night, marking the first time this season the Pats have been shutout.

The Pats are in 6th spot of the Eastern Conference in the Western Hockey League (WHL), they currently have a three-point edge on the Tigers.

Brandon heads into tonight’s game tied for the 8th and final playoff in the East with Swift Current and Calgary. The group of three teams are six points back of the Pats.

Tonight will mark the sixth and final these two teams meet this season, Regina holds a 3-2 edge heading into this evening’s contest.

Head Coach and General Manager John Paddock is tied with Murray Armstrong for second place in the franchise’s history all-time list for coaches wins. A victory tonight would move Paddock into sole possession of second spot.

The Pats will be wearing special-edition orange jerseys as part of their Indigenous Celebration Night. The game will showcase Indigenous Culture throughout the night.

All of the orange jerseys are currently being auctioned off. The bidding closes at 8 pm. The proceeds of the jersey auction will go towards the Orange Jersey Project.
