Pat Canadians take Game 2 with 3-2 victory over the Contacts

 

The Regina Pat Canadians defeated the Saskatoon Contacts 3-2 on Thursday night to even up their series at 1-1 in the second round of the SMAAAHL Playoffs.

Saskatoon scored the lone goal in the first before Jaxon Skiftun replied for Regina to tie the game up at 1-1. The Contacts would regain the lead before the end of second period with Tyler Phipps picking up the goal for the Contacts.

But in the third period, the Pat Canadians would stage their comeback. Ryan McDonald would net the equalizer. Noah Englot scored the game-winning goal with 40 seconds remaining in regulation on the powerplay for Regina.

John MacPherson collected the win making 16 saves.

Game 3 of the series goes 4:30, Saturday afternoon at the Co-Operators Centre.
