The Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan (PC Party) is accusing the newly formed Saskatchewan United Party of trying to take over the party and using confidential party information to grow its base.
The PC Party said that there was an attempt made at their last AGM to change the party’s constitution and allow members and an employee of the party to amalgamate it with another party which later became the Sask. United Party.
They also said that since that attempt, a missing computer had caused concern since it contained hundreds of names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of former and current members. The computer also contained various financial information related to past donors and donor lists developed by the PC party between 2007 and 2018.
The PC Party said that they believe the information on that computer has been used to solicit members of the party’s current executive, current Party members and Past party members, as the emails sent from the Sask. United Party to individuals had not provided their information to the Sask. United Party.
The Sask. United Party said that the PC Party’s accusations were ridiculous.
“It is unclear what the PC Party is suggesting; however, we can definitively state that no such computer, data, or any other information belonging to the PC’s was at any time, or is now, in the
possession or use of the Saskatchewan United Party.”
“It is concerning that the PC’s have mismanaged the security of their own devices and their supporter’s data and have resorted to deflecting their own security issues against the fastest growing political party for the people of Saskatchewan.”
