In game one of the first round WHL playoff series against Saskatoon, everyone on the Reina Pats played their role.
Goalie Drew Sim was tidy in net, Stanislav Svozil moved the puck and hit the scoresheet, and Connor Bedard did Connor Bedard things. In big games its the stars who have to lead the way, and in game one that’s exactly how it played out for Regina.
Defensemen Svozil had a goal and an assist in his playoff debut. Bedard scored two highlight reel goals and added a helper for a three point night.
With game two set for this afternoon, coach John Paddock will be saying “second verse, just like the first”, as he will want to see an exact copy of the effort the team gave on Friday night.
Drew Sim kicked out 27 saves on 28 shots, but will probably be seeing more pucks in game two. Saskatoon will not want to venture down Highway 11 down two games in this seven game series.
Pregame on 620CKRM is at 3:00 pm, with face-off set for 4:00 pm.
Games two and three will be in Regina on Tuesday and Wednesday. Single seats were still available for both games.
