Pats Connor Bedard named WHL Player of the Week and WHL Player of the Month

It’s been an excellent start to the post-season for the Regina Pats Connor Bedard and today the Western Hockey League (WHL) recognized his efforts as he was named the WHL Player of the Week.

During the Pats opening two victories in Saskatoon on the weekend, the Pats captain collected eight points (5G-3A) including a five-point (3G-2A) effort in Game 2 on Sunday.

Regina has opened up with a 2-0 series lead on the road against the Blades.

Later on Monday, it was announced by the WHL that the North Vancouver product was named the WHL Player of the Month for March.

Bedard recorded three hat-tricks in March, including a four-goal game March 3 versus Winnipeg and back-to-back three-goal performances versus Moose Jaw March 18 and 19.

On five occasions, Bedard put up four or more points, topping out with a six-point effort against the Warriors March 19.

The 17-year-old is the top-ranked North American Skater by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2023 NHL Draft.

The Pats will host the Blades in Game 3 of their series on Tuesday night at the Brandt Centre. Coverage on 620 CKRM begins with the pre-game show
