Police pursuit of stolen car in North Regina leads to arrest

It took more than just a spike belt and a shelter-in-place at a Regina school Monday just before lunch to arrest a suspect with a stolen vehicle.
With the stolen vehicle stopped after a spike belt in the 400 block of Rink Ave. at 11:10 am, police made repeated commands to the driver to leave the vehicle.
When the SWAT unit arrived, the driver continued on.
A police vehicle made contact with the suspect vehicle, and then the suspect hit a police vehicle holding perimeter.
The vehicle lost control around the 200 block of Rink Avenue and came to a stop.
The man fled on foot, and police were able to get him into police custody with a noon-lethal impact munition.
The 32-year-old man is facing numerous charges and will make an appearance in provincial court Tuesday.
