Regina Pats defenceman Stanislav Svozil’s hockey season isn’t quite over yet.
The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today they have called up Svozil for the remainder of the regular season.
On Thursday, Svozil will become 164th Regina Pats player to reach the National Hockey League when the Blue Jackets take on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
This past season, the Prerov, Czechia product finished the regular season top-3 in the Western Hockey League amongst defencemen in numerous categories. He ranked first in power play assists (36), second in assists (67), second in points per-game (1.39), and third in points (78), all while playing in just 56 games.
During the playoffs, Svozil had 13 points (4G-9A) which was second among WHL players in the first round as he only trailed teammate Connor Bedard.
Columbus has two games remaining on their schedule, they meet Pittsburgh, and will finish their season on Friday against Buffalo.
