Sask. RCMP to present preliminary timeline of James Smith Cree Nation homicides

The Saskatchewan RCMP announced they would be presenting a preliminary timeline of the mass causality homicides that left 11 people dead and 18 injured.

It was on September 4 that Myles Sanders stabbed several people to death at James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon.

The presentation comes after Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore committed to sharing a preliminary timeline of events related to the homicides.

Blackmore and Superintendent Joshua Graham, Officer in Charge of the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, will present the timeline in Melfort on Thursday.

“The information to be released will not impact the two upcoming Saskatchewan Coroners Service inquests and the independent investigation conducted by the Saskatoon Police Service and the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team,” the RCMP said in a media release.

The presentation will last four hours and be live-streamed to the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Facebook pages.
