Former Snowbird Carmichael named city manager for Moose Jaw

She may not be ‘notorious’, as the city’s tourism motto suggests, but former Snowbirds team lead Maryse Carmichael has been named city manager for the city of Moose Jaw.

Carmichael was the first female pilot for the Snowbirds in 2000 and was the commanding officer for the team for a stint beginning in 2010.

The decision was ratified at a personnel committee meeting.

Moose Jaw Mayor Clive Tolley said they looked for a person whose values align with Moose Javians and the values of city employees.

Carmichael, a long time Moose Javian after her military career, replaces the retiring Jim Puffault.

Her first day with the city is May 16.
