University of Regina Cougars Women’s Volleyball team names new head coach

 

The University of Regina Cougars Women’s Volleyball team have announced a new head coach for the team, Prateek Yadav was named to the position on Friday.

Yadev joins the Cougars after spending time with the Pakmen Volleyball Club in Toronto. In his final season as a head coach with Pakmen, he guided the club’s 16U girls’ team to a Division 1 provincial championship and a second-place finish in Division 1 at the 2019 Volleyball Canada Nationals in Regina.

He recently served as an assistant coach as an assistant coach with the University of Guelph’s women’s team. He has also coached at the provincial level with Team Ontario Elite, Team Ontario Academy, Indigenous Team Ontario, and Team Ontario Black.

Yadav takes over the Cougars after the team was guided through the 2022-23 season by Lee Hamilton, who stepped in as interim head coach following the retirement of longtime head coach Melanie Sanford.

He will officially begin his new role on Monday, June 5.
