Regina man taken into custody after being hit with a conducted energy weapon

A taser, also known as a conducted energy weapon (CEW), was used in the apprehension of a person in Regina today.

Today at about 10:30 a.m, the Regina Police Service was called to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 2000 block of St. John Street.

Shortly after officers attended, a man walked out of the residence; the man was holding a bladed weapon and was threatening self-harm. Patrol officers talked to the man, but the man ran toward police.
