Police officers recorded 374 offences of impaired driving on Saskatchewan roads in April.
That number comes after SGI spotlighted the Report Impaired Drivers (RID) program.
Of the 370 offences, 179 were issued Criminal Code charges, with 195 people given administrative roadside licence suspensions.
Impaired driving offences also come with an immediate licence suspension, vehicle impoundments, impaired driving education programs and Safe Driver Recognition demerit points.
Other results from April’s traffic spotlight included 730 tickets for distracted driving, including 649 for using a cell phone while driving, 448 for seatbelt and occupant restraint offences, and 4,991 for speeding and aggressive driving offences.
For May, SGI is once again shining the spotlight on impaired driving.
