The agricultural world is abuzz with talk about this potential merger between grain giants Viterra and Bunge.
There are wide spread reports that the two companies are talking about a merger, but neither side is willing to admit it.
This is not the first time the two rivals have been in talks to merge. In 2017 when Viterra was known as Glencore Agriculture, it attempted a take over of Bunge, which failed.
There is no question that any agreement would come under a microscope of scrutiny from regulators as this would continue to concentrate together companies that ship corn, grain and soybeans all vital in food security.
If the deal is approved, Viterra would vault into the top tier of global grain merchants.
