RCMP roving traffic unit seizes drugs, weapons, cash

The Saskatchewan RCMP’s roving traffic unit has taken a large amount of illegal drugs, a restricted firearm and cash off the streets in the last few weeks.

On May 3rd, 10 kilos of cocaine were seized from a traffic stop. Thirty-two-year-old John Morin has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. He’s set to appear in Lloydminster provincial court June 26.

On May 30th, police stopped a vehicle in the province with about six litres of G.H.B. – which has been used as a date rape drug – and a small amount of cocaine and meth.

Warren Stricker. 40 from Langham, is charged with possession of GHB for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cocaine, while Quinton Stricker, 42, is charged with possession of GHB for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, and possession of methamphetamine. Both will appear in Lloydminster provincial court July 24.

On May 31st, police stopped a vehicle with a large amount of cash bundled in plain view, and also found a large amount of methamphetamine restricted firearm in the vehicle.

  • Possess Restricted Firearm With Readily Accessible Ammunition, 95(b) Criminal Code
  • Possess Restricted Firearm While Prohibited From Doing So, 117.01(1) Criminal Code
  • Possess Prohibited Device While Prohibited From Doing So, 117.01(1) Criminal Code
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, 354(1)(a) Criminal Code
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, 354(1)(a) Criminal Code
  • Laundering the Proceeds of Crime, 462.31(1) Criminal Code
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Ilmi is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster provincial court July 10th.
