Serious Incident Response Team responds to incident on east end

Regina police were on the scene of a serious incident on the 2600 block of East Riverbend Drive.

Police said the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) has taken over and is investigating.

Regina police said there was no threat to public safety as a result of their investigation.

SIRT, meanwhile, said in a tweet this afternoon that they were deployed to an incident where an individual sustained a serious injury while in the custody of the Regina Police Service and the RCMP.

SIRT said details will be coming later.
