Curling Canada announced the three pre-qualified rinks for the 2024 Brier which will be held in Regina.
Winnipeg’s Team Matt Dunstone, Edmonton’s Team Brendan Bottcher and Newfoundland’s Team Brad Gushue have received entry into the tournament.
The top unqualified teams on the 2022-23 Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS) earned automatic spots.
Bottcher was ranked second in the CTRS this past season with Dunstone finishing third. Gushue will represent Team Canada at the Brier.
A fourth pre-qualified team will be determined via the top spot on the 2023-24 CTRS among non-qualified teams at the conclusion of the provincial and territorial playdowns.
With their early entry into Brier, the Bottcher and Dunstone rinks will not compete in the provincial playdowns.
The 2024 Brier will run from March 1-10.
