Possible End in Sight for BC Port Strike: New Tentative Deal Reached Says Union

It has yet to be confirmed by the main players, but a union local for B-C port workers says a tentative agreement has been reached between a union bargaining committee and employers.

International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada Local 502 issued a statement on its website saying a potential deal has been reached with the B-C Maritime Employers Association.

An “emergency contract caucus” will be held today to vote on whether to send the tentative agreement to the full union membership for ratification.

Neither the employers’ nor the union’s main websites mention the tentative agreement.
