Hot Weekend Ahead

The heat is on.

This weekend the thermometer will begin pushing into the 30’s with a potential high temperature of 35 degrees on tap for Monday.

“Its already happening in south western Saskatchewan and southern Alberta” according to Samantha Mouti with Environment and Climate Change Canada. “There’s a ridge of high pressure building on the prairies for the weekend and into the early part of next week, and what that usually means is clear skies and warm temperatures”.

Assiniboia could see temperatures of 32 degrees Saturday, 33 Sunday, and 36 on Monday.  Maple Creek was under a heat warning Friday, and will see temperatures in the mid 30’s through Monday. Swift Current will be in the low to mid 30 degree range until at least Tuesday.

Regina could be another area that will see a high of 35 degrees on Monday, and in the low 30’s all weekend.

All in all its going to be a hot weekend around parts of Saskatchewan.  Stay alert for heat warnings in your area.
