Brantley and Red Sox walk off with a doubleheader win against Moose Jaw

 

A return to Currie Field after a trip through Alberta as the Regina Red Sox defeated the Moose Jaw Miller Express in both games of a doubleheader on Sunday.

The first game was a resumption of a matchup that was rained out on June 30. With the Red Sox leading 3-2 heading into the top of the fourth, Regina would go on to win 7-4.

Red Sox pitcher Jason Davis picked up the win in the first game, going six innings, recording eight strikeouts, with four hits, a pair of runs with one of them unearned.

In game two of the doubleheader, OF Cameron Brantley hit a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the 7th inning, to give Regina a dramatic 6-4 win.

Daniel Crabtree pitched a complete game for Regina, allowing seven hits, four runs with two of them unearned and picked up two strikeouts.

With the two wins, Regina improved their record to 20-25, and now are two games back of Medicine Hat for second spot in the Eastern Division.

The Red Sox will be busy at Currie Field this week, after a day off on Monday, the Red Sox will return to action on Tuesday when they meet the Lethbridge Bulls, opening pitch is 7:05.
