Deputy Chief Dean Rae named as Interim Police Chief

The Regina Board of Police Commissioners has selected Deputy Chief Dean Rae as the interim Chief of Police.

Deputy Chief Rae will take on the role in an acting capacity starting on August 1.

Rae has served for over 30 years with the Regina Police Service and has been Deputy Chief since 2014.

An independent executive search firm is currently in the hiring process for the new chief, which is expected to take several months.

Until a new Police Chief is selected, Rae will remain in the acting role.
