Yorkton RCMP have released some details about what happened there a couple of days ago.
Tuesday morning at 9:15, RCMP responded to a report of a man with a firearm inside a residence on Maple Avenue.
The man was alone inside the residence and refused police instruction to leave. Police set a perimeter and RCMP resources were called to assist.
Officers executed a search warrant and arrested the man without further incident.
36-year-old Aaron Meekis from Regina was charged with break and enter and resisting arrest. The man was uinlawfully at large from Regina police and had an arrest warrant.
He appeared in Yorkton provincial court this morning.
