The QCX Marks Another Year of Thrills and Entertainment

It’s just not summer in the Queen city with out A spin on the zipper, mini donuts, and a day spent at the fair.

The marquee event of the season opened yesterday, with a full schedule of entertainment for the days ahead.

This years edition of Queen City Exhibition is something Real District CEO Tim Reid says will be bigger than ever.

“There is something here for everyone and of all ages. We believe that last years was one of our best fairs of all time, and we are confident with the weather and the programing we have this year will truly be something remarkable.”

Reid highlighted the acts coming to the fair this year – from Flo Rida and Boys II Men, the RSO, and Canadian Rockers Sloan. Reid says the setting of Centennial Park is unlike any other.

“This park is something most facilities don’t have. You’ll have a great act on stage and a brilliant Saskatchewan night. It’s extraordinary to have live music under a Saskatchewan sky with the fair in the background.”

Reid says he is no stranger to fairs, and has loved attending them over the years.

The 5 day festival promises hot weather, with temperatures hovering around the 30 degree mark. The heat is something Reid adds the Real District is ready for.

“The Brandt center will be open all week long, it’s an air conditioned facility. If you’re seeking shelter and shade – we are reminding people the Brandt center is available.”

Normally Reid says the center would be inaccessible accept for in performance times. Hydration will be available throughout the Real District – and patrons are allowed to bring in and fill their own water bottles.

“It’s going to be a hot 5 days – people should come prepared.”

The Real District has taken additional steps to maintain venue security this year – adopting a clear bag policy, and wands to assist security in finding weapons that people may be trying to bring into the fair grounds.

The QCX runs until Sunday night: A full schedule of entertainment and a “before you go prep guide” can be found here.
