Kuzma, a third-round choice by the Pats in this past Western Hockey League(WHL) Prospects Draft (61st overall), enjoyed the experience of first WHL camp.
“Playing in that game was awesome. You know obviously it was the first time at camp, little bit nervous, but we got that out of the way.”
Valis was satisfied with the competitiveness that emerged during Tuesday night’s scrimmage.
“Playing against your future teammates, on the upcoming team, it’s good compete, it gets under your skin sometimes, that’s for sure.”
The 2004-born forward noted Team Blue wanted to come out with a strong showing in the third period.
“We had a big conservation going into the third, cause we came out in the second very slow, that third period was huge for us, we came out strong, got up by a few and helped us out.”
Tanner Howe had three assists for Team Blue and felt the team got off to a strong start in training camp.
“It was good to come to Regina again, see all the guys, and get the week started, and it was good long week, lots of good work.”
The Pats will now begin their exhibition schedule with a home and home set with the Brandon Wheat Kings. Friday night the two teams will square off at the Brandt Centre before they head back to Brandon on Saturday night.
