Youth charged after bear mace incidents in Regina

Today at 1:40 a.m., the Regina Police Service was called to the 100 block of Halifax Street N for a report of a person being bear sprayed through an open window. Another home nearby had bear mace sprayed through open windows.

As a result of work by the Regina police canine unit, a suspect male was located in that 100 block of St. John Street N.

He was taken into police custody without incident.

A 17-year-old male was charged but can’t be named under of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but he’s been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and three counts of theft under $5,000.

The youth made his first court appearance this afternoon.
