Regina Pats make moves

The Regina Pats trimmed their roster on Monday be reassigning five players.

Regina have sent down the following players.

F Cohen Klassen
F Cameron Kuzma
F Wyatt Stinton
F Zach Lansard
D Fenton Mann

Kuzma scored the lone goal for the Pats during the preseason in their 2-1 loss to Brandon on Saturday.

Klassen was Regina’s top selection in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. (3rd round 51st overall).

A few former Regina Pat players have found new homes in the ECHL.

Riley Ginnell, Neithan Salame, Cole Dubinsky and Tanner Brown have all inked professional contracts.

Ginnell, 20, has signed with the Calgary Flame’s ECHL affiliate, the Rapid City Rush. Last season Ginnell split the season with the Brandon Wheat Kings, Moose Jaw Warriors and Pats. He had 10 goals and nine assists for 19 points in 52 games, with 16 of those points (9G-7A) coming in 36 games with the Pats.

Salame spent last season playing at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton before signing a contract with the Fort Wayne Komets, the ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. The defenceman split four WHL seasons with the Pats and the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Dubinsky finished his WHL career with the Prince George Cougars last season after spending parts of six seasons with Regina. The 20-year-old agreed to terms with the Maine Mariners, the Boston Bruins ECHL affiliate. In 203 games with the Pats, Dubinsky recorded 103 points (38G-65A).

Brown has signed a contract with the Florida Everblades, the Florida Panther’s ECHL affiliate. The 20-year-old from Kelowna, B.C., played 223 games in the Western Hockey League across parts of six seasons, playing with four different organizations.
