Pointing laser lights at aircraft leads to charges for several Reginans

If you think that pointing laser lights at aircraft is a funny prank, there are a few people in Regina who would probably disagree.

The Regina Police Service said there are multiple instances of laser strikes on aircraft as well as the RPS Aerial Support Unit aircraft.

On six occasions in 2023, seven different adults were charged with mischief endangering life.

The incidents were not related to each other and there is not one specific area the suspects carried out the strikes from. In each of these cases, the RPS’s Aerial Support Unit officers used the onboard technology to quickly confirm and locate the suspects.
