Rams will attempt to clear some space in the playoff race

The University of Regina Rams (1-2) have the chance to get back to .500 mark on Saturday when they visit the University of Manitoba Bisons (0-3).

Last week, the Rams registered their first victory of the season after a comeback victory over the University of Calgary Dinos.

First year QB Owen Sieben came off the bench for the Rams in relief of QB Bryden O’Flaherty and led the green and gold to the 23-15 win. The Rams QB was 13/20 for 187 passing yards and a touchdown.

Sieben was in the lineup last week against the Dinos due to QB Noah Pelletier suffering an injury in Week 2 against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Pelletier is questionable to return the Rams lineup this week. If he is unable to dress, Keegan Kaytor, or Joey Howorko will suit up as the other QB for the Rams.

The Bisons head into Saturday’s matchup looking for their first win of the season. They started the season with losses to the top three teams in the Canada West Football Conference in 2023. (Sask, UBC, Alberta).

A win by Manitoba would move the Bisons into the important fourth spot ahead of the Rams based on the season series tiebreaker.

The two teams will meet for a second time in Regina on Saturday, October 14.

620 CKRM will have coverage of Saturday’s game from Winnipeg with Sean Kleisinger. Pre-game coverage begins at 12:45, opening kickoff is 1:00.
