Sask Energy will be doing a planned natural gas flare today at two places in the city of Regina today.
At 7 am Saskenergy’s Town Border Station on the south side of Dewdney Avenue along with the block valve station West of 9th avenue north will both begin flaring with the process lasting up to eight hours.
On your commute this morning you may see a 40 foot flame coming out the stacks at these locations- Sask energy says not to be alarmed the process is controlled, and neccesary maintenance. The process also reduces the carbon footprint of vented natural gas by 85 percent.
The area around the flare sites will be monitored to ensure public safety.
