RCMP respond to concerns about cult in Richmound

The R-C-M-P are setting up a temporary detachment in the village of Richmound in response to the presence of a group known as the “Kingdom of Canada.”

Police say the detachment will be staffed 24-7 and officers will be doing regular patrols.

“The safety and security of the communities we police is our top priority,” says C/Supt. Tyler Bates, commander of Saskatchewan RCMP’s South District. “We are aware of the presence of a group, sometimes referred to as the Kingdom of Canada, in Richmound, SK. We’ve received a number of calls for service related to this group’s presence in the community over the past two weeks or so. Today, we will be bringing a mobile temporary RCMP detachment to Richmound, which will be staffed 24/7 and will allow our officers to quickly respond to any potential calls for service in the area. We will also be conducting regular patrols in the community.”

The mayor of Richmound says people who live in the community are feeling threatened by the self-proclaimed “Queen of Canada” Romana Didulo and her followers.

The group are followers of QAnon, and have routinely called for violence against people who administer COVID Vaccines to children, among other conspiracy theories. Followers of QAnon believe the world is controlled by the “deep state”, a conspiracy theory which has been allowed by the far right to take root in US politics.
