A 36-year-old woman has been arrested and faces charges after waving a machete at passing vehicles in front of the Saskatchewan Legislative Building.

On Friday, at 10:00 p.m., police responded to the 2400 block of Legislative Drive and located the woman suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.

Police located a machete concealed in the woman’s waistband upon search incident to arrest.

The 36-year-old is facing three charges, including possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.

She is set to make her first court appearance in Regina Provincial Court on December 7.
