WHL announces mandatory neck guard protection

The Western Hockey League has announced they will be adopting mandatory neck guard protection for all players effective Friday, November 3.

All WHL players will be required to wear neck protection on all on-ice activities including practices and games.

This past weekend, hockey player Adam Johnson passed away in England after he was struck in the neck area by a skate blade.
