Regina has hired a new police chief.

Farooq Hassan Sheikh is coming to the Regina Police Service after serving as chief of the Alberta Sherrif’s Service.

Cheif Sheikh has 31 years experience in law enforcement with the London Metropoliton Police, and the Midland Police in the UK.

He has also served with the Calgary Police, and the Saanich Police Service in BC.

He will start his new job on December 1st.

He is replacing former Chief Evan Bray who retired last summer.
