It was a successful first season for Regina Rams Quarterback Owen Sieben.
On Thursday, Sieben was named the Canada West Football Award.
The Langley, B.C. product began the season as the team’s third-string quarterback, but after injuries to Noah Pelletier and Bryden O’Flaherty, Sieben took over for the Rams.
He would quickly establish himself as one of the most accurate quarterbacks in U SPORTS, as he finished second in Canada West and 10th in all of U SPORTS with a 64.6% completion percentage.
In six games this season, Sieben completed 117 of his 181 passes for a total of 1356 yards including 5 touchdowns.
University of Alberta RB Matthew Peterson was named the Canada West Football Player of the Year.
